Paul reached behind him, tugging a second pokeball from his belt. True, the female had shown skill in her battling. In fact, he was impressed. Were all trainers from Iona like this, or was she just a fluke? He'd discover the fact in the future, but he had a battle at hand in the present.
What worried the violet-haired boy was the fact that she took out his Torterra without taking a single hit. That meant that it was basically two on one. He had to chose his second pokemon wisely. There was no telling what her second pokemon was. And if her first pokemon displayed such grace and power, then her second was probably similar. Which meant that he was in for a really tough match. But maybe she'd get overconfident and he'd be able to sweep this battle clean.
Tossing the red and orb in an odd fashion (that appeared as if he was backhanding someone), the ball landed with a light tap. A second later, it exploded open, a red light flashing and twisting together to form a creature-like form. Snapping shut and bouncing back to Paul's hand, he stuffed the ball in his pocket. What now stood in front of him was a tough looking electric pokemon. Sparks fizzed around it's horns as it glared at the fire monkey. It was yellow in color, with black lightning-like marks etched across its entire body. An Electabuzz.
The girl looked up, eyes alert and focused. Ash cast a glance at her, unsure. She had seemed so... reserved before. Yet now, sheer determination replaced her expression. She had definitely changed. Ash frowned at this. What had caused it? Glancing at the pokeball in his hand, he had to wonder. Was this Phanpy hers? Did she not catch pokemon? Was it that she did not use pokeballs to house her pokemon? Was that why?
Ash was left to ponder his thoughts while Chimchar scurried back onto the field. Exhaling a cooling breath, the pokemon reopened his steel grey eyes. It was scary how alike their expressions were. They were not like two seperate pokemon. Rather, like one. One is all and all is one. Paul's expression didn't change, but he took observation of this. True, if they were that close, they'd share their strengths. Yet, also their weaknesses. He'd look for flaws in the girl.
"Chimchar, let's go! Flamethrower!" she called. Following without any hesitation, the fire-monkey spat a concentrated beam of hot flames. Shooting directly at Electabuzz, Alix watched.
"Light screen," Paul said, arms at his sides. It was as if he battled like a robot. He didn't move when he uttered a command. He never truly showed a lot of expression. And his eyes took in every detail. The female grimaced. He was serious. And if she wanted to earn her friend back, she'd have to work.
The flamethrower smashed into the grid-like box that had formed around Electabuzz. Chimchar curled his lip back, scowling at this. He was aware of what the effects of Light Screen. Crappy for him. Through, he could do without special attacks for a while. At least until the effects of light screen wore off.
"Flamewheel!" the girl said, lashing a hand forward. Paul watched, eyes narrowed. Chimchar spun forward, forming a repetitive cycle of spinning and flaming to surge forward at its incredible speed.
"Protect!" Paul called back, as Electabuzz surrounded itself in a green membrane, encasing itself and sealing its safety from the attack. Yet Paul was watching Chimchar. At the last second, it veered to the left, smashing into the right side of protect.
Paul smirked. He got it. The reason she used motions. She'd cast her arms out, looking to encourage her pokemon or release the pent up stress from battle. Yet, she was making subtle commands. The gril stoppec. What was with the smirk? He hadn't shown emotion before... what was with the sudden sneer?
"Thunder!" The switch from a strickly defensive attack to offensive was fast! Chimchar hadn't even landed from his flamewheel! Scoring it's electric attack head on, Chimchar was sent back, letting out a cry as the area was lit by the intense yellow light. Landing on his legs, he wobbled slightly, sinking to one knee. Letting out a whimper, the chimp pokemon closed its eyes, remaining weak on the side. "Thunderpunch!"
Closing in, the Thunder pokemon charged forward. Its fist sparking, the predator closed in on its prey. Yet, the mouse would always lash back at the cat before defeat. As the injured bird lured predators from its nest.
While his head was angled down, Chimchar smirked. Flicking his gaze open, it was clear that his eye color had changed. Paul's expression twisted into one of disbelief. The hell? Why did the Chimchar had green eyes? The answer was soon spelled out to him.
Electabuzz collapsed, crashing into the ground in a clumsy face plant. Paul's face darkened. Grass Knot. A rare attack, at least for a Fire Pokemon to know! Scowling, he ordered his pokemon to retaliate. "Electabuzz, get up! Thunder!"
Struggling onto its feet, Electabuzz soon surged a powerful blast from its horns. It was cleared enraged from tripping, planning to pay back the Chimchar for it. Yet, his electric attack hit empty air. It was gone. Paul had heard it at the last minute, though Electabuzz had missed it. Another Dig attack was what the girl ordered.
Not having time to react, Electabuzz was soon met by a fist thrust upwards, scoring him with an uppercut. Flipping backwards, the yellow pokemon landed on its back, trying to regain itself. "Protect!"
A good strategy. Protecting itself while it struggled to recollect its movements. "Flamethrower!" the girl said, clenching a fist in front of her. Paul's eyes didn't miss the action. He'd key in on those now. The flames hit the shield, canceling both out. Now, Both pokemon stood, waiting.
"Thunder!"
"Counter with Flamethrower!"
Both attacks smashed together, causing a small explosion to form. Air buffetted the girl and Paul, causing their hair to ruffle and their clothes to flap in the newly created wind. The girl's eyes narrowed, as she stared forward. Both pokemon had taken significant damage. Chimchar had been struck by a strong Thunder. Electabuzz had been hit with a grass knot and dig.
"Chimchar, Flamethrower!"
"Light screen!"
Perfect. The girl had hoped for this defensive technique. "Spin into a flame wheel!" she said quickly. Chimchar grinned as he sped forward, sommersaulting into a spinning wheel of fiery wrath. Electabuzz's expression changed, as Light Screen only affected Special Attack moves. Flamethrower was a spacial attack, yet Flame Wheel was not.
Smashing into Electabuzz's midsection, Chimchar sent the large creature backwards. Though, the two weren't finished. "Flare Tornado!"
Now, the chimp pokemon redirected his crash course. Spinning circles around Electabuzz, he soon formed the cyclone of fire and hot air. Now, concealed by a wall of fire, he proceeded to take out his opponent. Jutting out at obtuse angles, he hit Electabuzz fron the back, front, sides, and anywhere that the creature wasn't expecting.
"Thunder, all directions!" Paul called. His pokemon barely heard the command over the roar of the flames that encased him. Pushing every ounce of electrical eergy to his horns, he discharged a massive Thunder attack, that jutted out in practically every direction. Beams of highly concentrated electricity caused the flaming cyclone to disperse, sending Chimchar back. Crying out in pain from the attack, he landed on his back, skidding backwards to come to rest near the female.
Electabuzz was showing the effects of the attack though. Calling upon that much power in one instant had left it rendered temporely exhausted. "Chimchar, you ok?" the girl asked, eyes flashing in concern. Her pokemon smacked his palms to the ground, pushing himself up. Nodding at her he signified that he was still rearing to go.
"Ok. Let's go forward! Hi-ko-za-ru Combo!" she said, smiling encouragingly at her pokemon. He nodded, immediately spinning into a flame wheel.
"Protect, Electabuzz," Paul ordered, as the thunder pokemon used the shield yet again. A green-tingled bubble formed around the yellow and black pokemon.
"Keep going Chimchar!" the girl urged, telling her pokemon to not stop the combo because of this. He smashed into the shield, rebounding upwards, just over Electabuzz's body height, but not directly overhead. Ceasing his previous attack, he launched a new flamethrower downwards, colliding with the figure and pressing him into the ground. Next, the chimp pokemon dove downwards, clawing at the grassy Earth. Not giving Electabuzz time to retaliate, he soon resurfaced, scoring his claws across Electabuzz's chest.
And that was it. With that last combo, Electabuzz fell, leaving Chimchar standing. Though he was exhausted from the overuse of attacks and two consecutive battles in a row, he cheered, leaping back towards the girl.
"Um... Electabuzz is unable to battle... Er... Girl is the winner!"

Sorry if the end sucks. I am so tired and I just want my bed at the moment. And I'm sorry for the delay. I was really sick. Comments are always appreciated. I will probably edit this so this battle is closer and Chimchar doesn't win as easily. Ok...niiiiiggghhh..t.....
