Several weeks had passed since Kitsumaru's breakdown upon Frost Mountain. It was all fading now into the back of his mind, as if it never happened. Kitsumaru now was keeping within the confines of Boron City. This was to ensure that the city of his Gym was safe and the people in it. Team Rocket had not made any significant moves in this direction yet but since the large brawl in Megalos he had no idea as to what he should be expecting. Azami giggled and nodded shyly. She still wasn't used to having her boss here. Was he her boss? He did employ her, although it meant she had to be certified by the Iona League which was no easy task. "So what do you have planned for the gym?" she asked quietly. The plans for the gym weren't supposed to be public knowledge since it'd ruin the fun of things so this time of night was perfect to discuss it in a public place.
Since returning, Kitsumaru allowed Azami to continue taking up the duties of gym leader. It had more or less been the two of them switching off since his return but there had been very few challenges. The ports of Iona had been deserted and the one populous Boron City seemed to be much more calm than Kitsumaru had remembered when he left.

The illustrious Boron City Café was rather empty, although it was somewhat of an unreasonable hour for people to be there. Regardless, sitting at a round table near the door was the Boron City Gym leader. Or at least one of them. He had been sitting there for quite some time rethinking the gym puzzles he had planned to install.
"The concept seemed fun . . . but I think it's still too much of an environmental hazard . . . " The young man had been whispering such things to himself for nearly two hours, staring at a messily written set of notes and equations.
The bell above the entrance rang as a young woman with bright pink hair entered. In a familiar manner she waved to the woman behind the cash register. The woman behind the counter asked, "The usual, Ms. Sato?" With a slight giggle and a charming smile, the young girl replied, "You know it!"
The young man at the table looked up from his work and with a grin said, "Azami! Glad you could make it. It seems you've been giving this place quite a bit of business since I left."
Kitsumaru shrugged and said, "So far I have yet to really decide on anything. I've been trying to save as much space as possible for the battlefield but there's too much to factor in. That and there's too many ideas that I've got! Not to mention the cost of it all...and even being a gym leader it's nearly impossible to use all of these ideas. In addition to that they've got to be on the safe side so we don't get sued..." Azami was about to ask if his brother would pitch in some money but felt it best not to ask that. She felt it might be a bit rude to do so and in addition she wasn't really sure what his relationship with Rath was like. She couldn't help but feel curious but her curiosity was overwhelmed by fear of getting fired...
Kitsumaru couldn't help but stare at Azami. She'd been so quiet. Usually she couldn't stop talking. Was it something he said? Before he could question her, the woman behind the counter called out, "Ms. Sato, your order's ready!" Azami got up rather quickly with a grin, trying to hide her massive overload of thoughts. As she exchanged her money for her drink, the woman behind the counter leaned over and whispered, "Hey. Nice catch. The Iona Champion's brother, eh? You could do better, Ms. Sato. You two do make a cute couple though..." The woman chuckled as Azami's face began to grow more and more red.
Azami returned to her seat, trying to calm herself down. She could only imagine how red her face must have been. Trying to distract herself she turned to the t.v. that was anchored on a wall across the room. Reports of Team Rocket has plagued the news more and more the past few months but Boron hadn't seen many Rockets within the city. Kicking Rockets out of town was one of Azami's favorite things to do since it usually meant a good training session. There were few occassions where they would challenge the gym, and due to rules, Azami couldn't decline. The only known Rockets encountered were those who wore their uniforms but some were a bit more deceptive and kept their identity secret.
Azami noticed a strange change of broadcast and Kitsumaru heard her say, Huh...? That's weird... Oh! She's so pretty..." Before he could ask, Kitsumaru looked up and was soon stricken with shock. Audrey was on the television but he couldn't believe what was coming out of her mouth. “Iona is now under Rocket control. That being said, there’s no reason to panic. For all intensive purposes they come in peace. Just go about your daily lives and I’ll be seeing you all at the next Pokémon Contest.”
This wasn't happening... This couldn't be happening! Kitsumaru began shaking... His heart was racing. He could hardly speak. Azami stared at the television, glaring at it as though it had just insulted her. She turned to look at Kitsumaru and he seemed to be trembling. Before she could say anything his voice sounded in a deep, aggressive tone, the likes of which Azami had never heard come from him. "How dare they use her like that. How dare they?! This is worse than I could ever imagine... How could I be so STUPID!" He slammed his fists to the table, startling the pink haired woman.
Hunched over, Kitsumaru began talking but in a calmer tone. "We can't let them do this. Where's my brother?! He should be protecting Iona from these clowns... Where are the other trainers? How has Team Rocket taken control of Iona?! It's not possible... What should we do...? What can we do...?"
Azami frowned. There wasn't much they could do... It seemed hopeless. Boron City was fresh out of experienced trainers and they both knew it. With the Top Coordinator taken by Team Rocket, they were missing one of their strongest trainers... "Azami... We can't let them do this... They're most likely going to target the most powerful trainers first, meaning Elite 4, gym leaders, and the Champion. With that being said, stay low for a while...only take on Rockets when you know you can defeat them. For extra precautions I'd like you to take and use my Magnezone and Lucario since you seem to be most comfortable using steel types. And in the case that they use a fire type use Archie. And if you need a quick escape he knows fly so contact me by Pokegear ASAP if you run into trouble..."
Azami nodded. She knew that this was serious business. Was she really capable of protecting Boron? Team Rocket had control and sooner or later they would be targeted. She knew there were strong trainers out there with the Boron City Gym badge but there was no telling where they would be. She knew that's what Kitsumaru was up to. There was no way he could take on Team Rocket alone. Especially with their growing numbers. He would need help and the only way for him to get help would be to search high and low for trainers. He had a few Pokemon residing in his box that he might be able to lend to trainers with a good amount of badges. Hopefully he'd be able to find them.
In a matter of hours Kitsumaru had packed up his things to travel once more. His Magnezone, Lucario, and Archeops were now in possession of Azami Sato. He was now back to where he started... Traveling but this time it wasn't by choice. Sparky popped out of his Pokeball and took up his usual station of Kitsumaru's shoulder. Kitsumaru grinned but felt a pang of anxiety. He grabbed for Togetar's ball and the large white Pokemon erupted from the orb. With a wave of the hand and an exchange of farewells, Kitsumaru departed once more, ascending into the dark sky, hoping to avoid detection by the Rockets.
