Sheryl was now hobbling. Her legs were weak from her constant running and the sun was beginning to set. She could see Megalos in the distance. The dim light it cast filled her with resolve but the blisters forming on her feet were slowing her pace. She winced with each step and eventually couldn't make it any further. She needed to stop. She opened up her bag and pulled out a first-aid kit. She slid her boots off and winced at the sign of her damaged feet. She began disinfecting them, wincing with pain once more, teeth grit. She began wrapping her feet with gauze, distracting herself with the sight of what she could see of Megalos as the sky grew darker. |

"Chaaaanseyyyyy!"
An oval-shaped, pink Pokemon known as Chansey was wobbling along the paved Route. It noticed a girl staring off into space. Chansey approached the girl and stared at her and her bandaged feet. Chansey did not know what the girl was doing, but she seemed to have painful feet. Chansey thought she would help. Chansey reached into her front pouch and pulled out an egg. Placing it near the girl it began to glow until it popped into a glittery cloud that would heal the light wounds of Cheryl's feet. Chansey smiled, hoping the girl would appreciate this.

Sheryl's gaze went back to her feet as she bandaged them and noticed she was now in the company of a pink Pokemon. And a Chansey at that! Sheryl lit up and said cheerfully, "Thank you so much! Here! Let me repay you! I haven't got much and this was supposed to be for Moga and Baku, but I'm sure they won't mind since you helped me..." Sheryl reached into her bag and pulled out a Rage Candy Bar from Mahogany Town. She smiled at the Chansey and said, "Thank you very much. I got this when I was in Johto. I hope you like it!" After handing the candy to Chansey, Sheryl stowed her kit away in her bag once more before putting her boots back on her feet. She stood up to test her healed feet and gave out a squeal of joy before thanking Chansey once more. Sheryl said to Chansey, "I am heading to Megalos City! If you would like, you can come with me. I would love some extra friends. If not I will make sure to come back here to visit you some time. I'd hate to take you away from your home... I know how hard that can be."

Chansey lit up when the girl gave her candy. Chansey immediately scarfed it down. "Chaaansey! Chansey! Chansey!" Chansey was more than grateful. She had never tasted something so delectable in her entire life. This human was truly amazing! Chansey wanted to aid this human. Chansey moved closer to the girl and looked up at her with starstruck eyes. When Sheryl offered to let Chansey go with her, Chansey was ecstatic. Chansey began to hop up and down, showing her approval to join her, followed by Chansey pointing to the balls on her belt and nodding with a smile.

Cheryl watched as the pink Pokemon showed extreme excitement and approval of joining her family. Sheryl grabbed a ball from her bag and tossed it at the pink Pokemon. After catching the pink Pokemon Sheryl would clip it to her belt with her other two friends' balls. Cheryl grabbed her bag and began walking toward Megalos feeling refreshed and ready for whatever life had to throw at her. Soon she would be in the company of friends, her new Pokemon pals, and maybe even family. Her heels clicked faster and faster as she neared the end of the route but then suddenly slowed. She couldn't believe was she was seeing. Half of the city was absent. Sheryl looked on in horror, her heart in her throat. Tears filled her eyes and she scurried into the city, hopping over rubble.
