Personality:
Easygoing, friendly and always good-humored, Zeke treats his banishment from this former ship as though it were an extended vacation. He’s make friends and always open to new prospects for fun and adventure; even slightly unusual ones. His easy-going attitude has been known to get him into trouble however, since because of it extremely easily persuaded into things before he’s heard all the relevant information.
This holds particularly true when dealing with members of the opposite gender; though in this case it stems more from his own weakness to feminine charms than it does his carefree nature. Such is his susceptibility that a girl with a cute smile and long flowing hair would have very little trouble convincing Zeke to remove his shirt and give a great big hug to a Cacturne.
Still despite his own quirks Zeke often finds himself playing straight man to his Chatot’s antics, particularly when the parrot decides to repeat things Zeke has said ‘in private’ at inopportune times. For some reason Zeke never seems to remember that his Chatot is a blabbermouth so Chatot usually has an abundance of things to say. An interesting note is however, that whenever Zeke gets himself into trouble via method A or B the two seem to switch roles temporarily; Zeke playing the fool and Chatot acts as the sensible one.
Appearance:
Zeke prefers loose baggy clothing that are easy to move around in, usually an open white shirt and simple jeans. He wears a copper colored bandanna on top of his head of messy blond hair and sports a matching belt and fingerless gloves. Despite the skull insignia he does not fancy himself a pirate; the gloves, belt and bandanna were a set. His eyes are a lighter brown than his bandanna and the length of rope he wears around his neck is a memento from the first ship he served on; he also never goes anywhere without his trusty knife tucked into his belt, another relic from his sailor days.
History:
Zeke had a pretty good childhood overall, small island life was a bit boring for his tastes but he made due. Since the town’s arguably biggest attraction was the Dewford Gym there we no shortage of trainers flocking in and out on one of the many ships that frequented the island. The different people and Pokemon that these ships brought to the island always amazed Zeke and he spent hours and hours dreaming about the amazing places these travelers must have come from, and the even more amazing Pokemon that probably lived there.
Eventually Zeke’s dreams got the better of him when he was 13 and he signed on with one of the many ships in Dewford harbor. He traveled all over the world working on that ship and several others for two years seeing places like Kanto, Hoenn and even Sinnoh. It was during that Sinnoh trip that Zeke met, and befriended his Chatot during an extended stay at Sunyshore City.
His latest voyage took him here to Iona Island, a place Zeke had never even heard of before. It was a particularly long one so to reward the crew the Captain organized a talent contest for the crew, with a cash prize to the winner. For his entry Zeke planned to sing a duet with Chatot, the song was ‘Great Balls of Fire’ and with burst of Chatot’s Heat Wave attack for one heck of a finale. Truth be told Zeke spent weeks teaching Chatot that move just for the talent show. The routine went well but Chatot got too excited at the end and let of too big of a flame burst, causing the ship to catch fire. Once they made port, Zeke was kicked off the ship and left on Iona Island. He could have just as easily tried to board another ship and had planned on it but after a few days on the charming island he changed his mind. Seeing new and exciting places and Pokemon was what had led him to the sea in the first place so he decided to explore this mysterious new land and do just that.

Isshu Adventures
The promise of new adventures was too much for Zeke to resist even after Isshu customs wouldn't allow Zeke to bring any one his pokemon partners, not even his best friend Chatot. Even so Zeke pressed on and upon arriving in Isshu Zeke took a quick mountain hike to get a view of this unexplored region; right before being trampled by a Dangoro stampede. An apologetic hiker managed to find what was left of Zeke after the Dangoro were gone and, feeling guilty over starting that stampede, gave Zeke a fossil he'd found as a gift.
Armed with his new Lid fossil Zeke went to visit Prof. Araragi immediately (and literally) mugged the sailor of his new fossil and revived it into Zeke's new partner, the Ancient Turtle pokemon Purotoga.
