Chapter 5
“There it is…” The dark voice spoke, glaring at the building of where he came from. He felt a shiver run through his dark fur. He then flinched when he felt a figure rub up against him. With a small growl he decided to ignore the affectionate blue female. “Kimi, we’re breaking in.”
“So serious suddenly…” Kimi commented. She jokingly licked the other Pokémon with her pink, small tongue. “Very well, though. Do you have a plan?”
“The Pichu they had needs to escape as soon as possible.” He growled. Kimi turned to the dark figure, guilt filling her expression. Seeing so, the male blinked and whimpered, nudging the female’s head gently with his muzzle. The female closed her eyes. “Kimi, this is not the time.”
“I know,” Kimi replied. She nodded and gave her body a quick shake. “My bad. So what are we going to do, Zetsu?”
“I’ll get the Pichu.” Zetsu started. “She needs to escape first.”
“Indeed.” Kimi nodded in agreement and stretched. She flicked her paws to warm them up for a dash she knew she had to do to help these ‘children’. Zetsu tilted his head a bit as Kimi crouched down into the bushes, and then twitched his ears towards the evil layer. He closed his eyes, trying to map out the insides of the building. Kimi’s tail rested beside her as she glanced to Zetsu from the corner of her eye. “Where do I go?”
Zetsu sniffed the air and turned his head to the edge of the building. His muzzle wrinkled. “There.”
Kimi blinked and did the same, nodding right after. “Understood.” She bent down low in the grass like a hunting lion, ready to pounce, when she heard a voice behind her, meowing in glee.
“A Glaceon! A Glaceon!!” The voice meowed. Kimi, caught off-guard, turned to see a Skitty. She growled softly as Zetsu stepped in front of the pink kitten. The Skitty purred now in joy. “An Umbreon too! Oh boy!”
“Back off, brat.” Zetsu growled. The yellow ring-marks on his body began to glow as he got ready for an attack. “We’re very busy.”
He used his tail to shoo off the Skitty and growled. He could see that the Skitty was nowhere to being happy, but he did not care. If this Skitty knew how to talk their language, then that meant that she was once a human; a failed generation perhaps? “Your parents should’ve taught you some manners while you where human.”
“They did,” The Skitty puffed her chest out proudly. “They taught me well!”
“Don’t talk to strangers and respect the elders.” Zetsu grinned and growled. His body shook and the yellow rings lit up. The Skitty gasped as a wave of dark energy came to her. She flew off the ground and into the sky, screaming. Zetsu turned his attention away and Kimi gave one last growl. The fur on her back stood, but flattened right after. Zetsu immediately turned to the building, narrowing his eyes into a glare when a scream came from the building. Kimi flattened her ears and bared her fangs in anger. Zetsu gently let his pelt smooth across the Glaceon’s blue fur as he too flattened his ears at the scream.
“Are we too late?” Kimi whimpered in worry. Zetsu shook his head. Terrible memories flashed into his mind.
“No, we’re not.” Zetsu said softly, hoping to get worries off his friend’s shoulders. He then licked Kimi’s head as if she was a frightened, quivering puppy and cautiously took a step out of the bushes. Kimi just followed, her fur having troubles blending in with her surroundings. Noticing this, Zetsu made himself sneaking around the forest trees and long grass hoping that it will help his friend by doing so. He then allowed himself to crouch into the weeds that grew around what looked like an abandoned cabin. He waited until Kimi carefully hopped forward and sat next to him before he spoke.
“We’re safe.” He sighed. He turned to see Kimi tearing weeds from the wall and stick them into her fur. She then made sure the weeds stayed by licking her fur, straightening it to cling to the weeds. The Umbreon didn’t speak as Kimi just finished grooming the green onto herself.
“Let’s go.” Kimi smiled. She nodded to Zetsu as they both rushed to different sides of the building. Kimi opened her mouth and breathed out Ice Beam, letting the wall freeze in front of her. She then tackled to push herself inside. Zetsu on the other hand just used Dark Pulse to crash the wall.
As the walls crashed at the end of the room, Kitsu nearly jumped. He turned to the Glaceon that was shaking her body trying to get the ice off her body. She sighed and glanced around, calling out suddenly after tilting her head back like a wolf ready to howl. “Respond if you know what I’m saying!!”
Kitsu immediately responded by calling back out. “I understand you! Help me out, please!”
“Will do.” Kimi quickly turned to the cage where Kitsu was kept in. She froze the lock on the cage and smashed it with a sharp slap using her tail. The lock shattered and the door opened. Kitsu smiled widely and jumped out, pointing to Alix’s cage next. Kimi said nothing and did the same, letting the cage swing open. Alix nodded her thanks and was about to jump out, when the door was blown open with a large energy blast. All the Pokémon turned to the door in fear, some screaming in fear when the dark figure jumped in.
“Zetsu,” Kimi gasped, rushing to him immediately. Zetsu had a towel-like cloth hanging from his mouth, dangling down to a bundle that wrapped the shivering Pichu in which he carried. He grinned sitting down and placing the bundle gently on the floor as Kitsu and Alix rushed to them.
“They’re knocked out.” Zetsu licked his lips, trying to get the numb feeling of carrying a bundle from his mouth. “Team Rocket, that is. I think they already injected drugs in her once, but she should be fine if she stays strong.”
“Thank goodness…” Kimi sighed in relief. She nudged Zetsu’s muzzle with her’s in a positive greeting and lowered her head to the shivering Pichu. Akika just looked around in fear, not knowing what was going on. Kimi licked Akika’s head gently to comfort her and stood up. “You’ll be fine, hun.”
“…” Akika’s lower lip quivered. She turned to Alix and Kitsu who were staring down at her in worry. Just as Kitsu stepped closer to her, Akika began to wail, tears flowing down her cheeks suddenly. Kitsu blinked a few times as the baby mouse Pokémon wobbled to Kitsu and hugged him, crying. “Myaaa~~!! It was scawy~~!!!”
Kitsu hesitantly placed his hand on the Pichu’s head and patted her. As Akika sniffled he just looked to Alix, not knowing what to do for sure. Kimi began to walk around the cages again, sniffing each Pokémon and trying to talk to them. Zetsu tilted his head to the Ditto that was still in the cage.
“…So you were a Pikachu this morning?” Kimi asked, her nose wiggling as she blinked to Angel. Angel nodded. Kimi grinned and blew on the lock, breaking it immediately and letting Angel’s door open. “You’re a part of this generation then. Come on out. You must be the Sitter.”
“Sitter?” Angel asked as she tried to take off the pads that sucked electricity from her. Kimi bit the cord that connected the cage and the Pikachu together and tried to help her out.
“Yes, the one who watches over the main one.” Kimi licked the cord and tried to bite down again, trying to break it. It wasn’t until she sighed and began to scratch the cord when Zetsu let out a howl-like noise.
“Team Rocket!!!” He called. Kimi quickly turned and widened her eyes as the men began to race into the room, trying to recapture the Pokémon that escaped. Kitsu picked up Akika and ran, while Alix got the cloth and rushed after. Zetsu jumped away from the men’s reach and watched as Alix began to fold the cloth around the baby Pokémon. She then tied it on Kitsu’s back, making it so that he could carry her without having to use his hands.
This was it; he needed to find out what to do. Battle and risk losing this generation, or run and ruin his own pride about being strong?
