Tales of Awakening
Prologue
An array of pinks and yellows were the first thing that anyone truly saw this late in the morning. It was 7:10 AM and a cranky boy slowly got out of his bed and stretched. He immediately went to the dresser and grabbed his usual black tee and jeans. It seemed like it would be another normal day….What a drag!
After putting on some clothes he went to the mirror and looked himself over. His silver hair glistened and sparkled in the dim sunlight. His eyes a light almond which complimented his caramel colored skin. He gave a small smile, brushed his teethe and ran his hands through his silver hair and went to the kitchen.
He met the same empty kitchen everyday: no one there cooking breakfast; no one there waiting for him to embrace him. It was another lonely morning….He placed a slice of bread in the toaster and poured a glass of orange juice. He looked at the microwave to see that it was already 7:20 AM. Just as his toast popped out of the toaster and landed right back in the toaster; the familiar knock came to the door. The boy then said in he’s monotone voice, “Emil its unlocked like always. Come on in.: Emil walked in with a smug smile and looked at the boy and said, “One of these days its gonna be a robber and they’re gonna beat the shit out of you.” The boy smirked and killed his orange juice before smashing his piece of toast. He than grabbed his car keys and ran out the door with Emil right behind him.
The boy unlocked his white truck and threw his backpack in the bed of the truck. He then got into the driver’s side and looked towards Emil. Emil was wearing his usual white tee and zipper sweat shirt. He wore his white jean that matched. The reason Emil wore all white was because it brought out his bright red hair and burning red eyes. He jumped into the passenger seat and rolled his window down and looked outside. The boy shook his head at how everything was so familiar. He started the truck and drove to his first stop. It was 7:25 Am and the song that came on was Move Along by The All American Rejects.
He drove 2 blocks and honked his horn a white house. Soon two girls came out of the house. The first was a girl with short purple hair, except two strands that went to her feet. She had pale skin which made her light purple eyes shine. She wore a black tank top that had a silver zipper in front and black jeans that had a white strand on the side. The second girl had long dark blue hair that went to her mid-back. Her skin was a warm and filled with color. Her eyes were a deep blue that seemed to go on forever. She wore a white sweatshirt that cut off at the end of her bicep. She wore a cloth belt above her sweat shirt that kept her skirt on. They walked close together and spoke quietly and giggled….A LOT. They approached the truck and threw their bags into the bed of the truck. They then got into the car and sat on the left side of the car. Emil and the boy chuckled and drove to the next stop; it was 7:30 AM and the song that came on next was CrushCrushCrush by Paramore.
The boy drove into the driveway of the final person to pick them up. He then honked his horn and waited, as they waited the boy turned and looked at the girl with the purple hair and said, “Hitomi did you and Kata study for the bio test today?” Hitomi looked at the blue haired girl named Kata and said, “Was that today?” The boy shook his head and said, “Naw, it really on Friday, just wanted to see how you would react.” Kata rolled her eyes and was about to say something when the car door opened next to her revealing a girl with long blonde hair with a few curls here and there. She wore a black hat and a black dress lined with pink lace. Her dark red eyes were the first thi9ng that you noticed. She sat down and smiled. She then said, “Hello Emil, Kata, Hitomi” Daisuke nodded and put the car in reverse and said, “ Hey Misty.” It was now 7:40 and Love Lockdown by Kayne West came on. Another normal morning in River point , Michigan.
7:50 AM; First Block bio; Daisuke sat in class surrounded by his friends Hitomi, Kata, Misty, Negi, and Rei. Negi was one of his other friends. He was dark skinned with a touch of caramel, he had short, dark dreadlocks that ended at his neck, this lead to his button up shirt and his black skinny jeans. He’s eyes were a light blue and were the color of the sky. On the other hand; there was Rei. He had eyes the color of jade and his hair was as white as snow. He wore a white jacket with gold liners, he also wore dark blue pants. Daisuke hated today, it seemed so……normal. He pulled out his mp3 player and pressed play and the song that played was Top of the World by The All American Rejects. He could tell it was going to be boring today.
9:15 AM; switching classes; Daisuke was at his locker when a girl with purple hair leaned against his locker. Daisuke turned and gazed at her for a few seconds. This person looked different then most people he had picked up or saw in class today, she had spiky, purple hair and she wore all black clothes with stripped arm warmers. She then looked at Daisuke and said, “Eh, Daisuke, Is it weird when you feel like something weird is gonna happen or something is coming?” Daisuke chuckled and said, “Not really, but it will be a cold day in hell when something happens in Riverpoint, Michigan. Anyway, why the sudden question Bara?” She smiled and opened her mouth to say something when her other group of friends came and pulled her away. He sighed as his mp3 changed to Temporary by Paramore.
3:15 PM; tracking training; It seemed like all his friends were here like all ways. Hitomi, Bara, Emil, Rei, Negi, Misty, and Amu…..How could he have forgotten! He had forgot to say something to Amu today, he hadn’t seen her all summer and this was one of the few times he could talk to her. He looked at her, he noticed that she was still fully dressed in her usual black tee with a heart with white wings spreading for the heart. She wore black pants and some retro ear earphones that covered her ears entirely and arched around her head. She also wore the seven piece necklace around her neck that Emil gave her last year when they had gone out…..Had it really been 4 months already since they broke up? Whatever, he need to talk to her; after all he hadn’t talked to her since school started 2 weeks ago.
He slowly walked towards Amu, on his way towards her, he noticed that she gave a quick glance at him and reach into her pocket. He slowed his walking at first then shrugged it off and sped back up to his original speed. Amu then turned to face Daisuke and pulled out a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Daisuke. Amu then said. “You and the rest of the crew have been invited to the bonfire that I’m hosting at my beach house.” She then gave a soft smile and turned to walk away before Daisuke could even say a word.
Daisuke chuckled, the same old Amu. He looked at the piece of paper in his hand and said, “Party, huh, sounds fun. I’ll think I’ll go.” He plugged his mp3 player in and started it to see its battery was dead. Damn, he forgot to charge it last night…….
10:15 PM; Daisuke’s house; “Tomorrow at 9:00 PM at Amu’s beach house…..sounds….fun.” said Daisuke as he headed into his empty house…..or what seemed like it was empty. His parents had fallen asleep without waiting to see if he had made it home safely. This was his life and he was use to it……
Chapter One
Release….
6:30 AM; Daisuke’s house; “Fuck, its gonna be a bad day….” said Daisuke as he slowly set him self up right in bed. Everyday he woke up early, the day was bound to turn out bad. He slowly got out of bed and got dressed; he gave a huge yawn as he looked at himself in the mirror. After he was fully dressed he walked to the kitchen to her voices. He walked in the kitchen to see his father pacing. He’s father turned to him and went into the same speech he always did on how irresponsible he was. His father then asked Daisuke why he hadn’t mowed the lawn yesterday. All Daisuke could say was, “All I will say will be an excuse so there’s no reason for me to say anything.” His dad didn’t like that answer that much, his father came towards Daisuke with his fist in the air ready to strike. Just as his fist was going to hit Daisuke, his father sighed and went out the back door. Daisuke eye’s followed his father’s movements and thought today was really going to be ‘fun’. He looked at the clock. It was 7:00 AM…..He sighed and went out to his car to wait for Emil. After Emil showed up he went to go pick up the rest of the people he usually picked up. He turned his radio on and the song that came on was Gives You Hell by All American Rejects.
7:35 AM; School parking lot; “Okay, Amu invited all of us to a party at her beach house. It’s today at 9:00 PM.” said Daisuke. He then changed his gaze along with everyone else to look at Emil. Emil nodded and said, “Sounds like fun.” Daisuke smiled, it seemed like he was not letting his feeling take control of him. Daisuke smile, that was good.
Daisuke looked at how his friends were centered around him. Kata and Hitomi were closes to him and Emil, while everyone else seemed to be around Rei. Today felt….sorta of different from the other day. It felt like something was coming. That’s it! He just remembered what Bara had asked him yesterday. He looked around hopefully to see Bara, but to his luck, she was no were to be seen. She must be hanging gout with her other group of friends. He would see her in 7th block anyway. He would ask her the same question as yesterday. Hopefully he would get an answer this time.
2:45 PM; after band class; Unlike most of his classes, he only had three friends in this class: Hitomi, Kata, and Bara. It was strange how he all his other classes full with friends and this one class with only three. Daisuke walked towards the Oboe section where Bara was practicing. He sat in the empty seat next to her and waited till she finished playing her piece. As she finished he said, “Now Bara, what were you saying yesterday?” Bara grinned and said, “So now your interested in my problems now?” Daisuke rolled his eyes and said, “Come on Bara, seriously.” Bara grin grew bigger as she spoke, “Okay, Okay, Well every since getting invited to Amu’s party, I feel like something is coming for me……and you.” Daisuke looked at her closely. Her grin had left her face and she had turned pale. For the first time that they meet he noticed her eye color. Her eyes were a light blue color, it was close to the color of the sea due to the little green mixed in them. He then noticed that she was looking in his eyes as well. The heads slowly started to moce closer to each other. Every passing second, the face came closer to uniting. Then just as they were inch away from each other Hitomi and Kata walked up. Both Daisuke and Bara looked away from each other blushing.
Hitomi gave a smile and said, “OOOO~, How did I not see this?” Hitomi was holding her hand to her mouth trying to suppress a giggle. On the other hand though, Kata was looking away, trying to act like she had not saw anything just now. Daisuke quickly got up without saying a word and went to his car. As he exited the band room, he noticed Bara had her mouth opened to say something….but no words came out. Daisuke had to clear his thoughts, he had to figure out what just happened…….Once again 6 words came to mind, “When repetition ends, will start over.”
8:45PM; On the way to the party; It was so quiet in his car. Emil wasn’t much of a talker, and Hitomi and Kata were in the back seat probably thinking of what they saw in the band class. Why was today so fucked up?
9:20 PM; Arrival at party; “Look at the color of the flames.” Daisuke said as he watched the fir dance on the wood. The flames hovered in the air before finally in the water below….Daisuke looked up from the bonfire and looked around. It seemed like nothing but his friends were here. He really didn’t know if that was bad or good…. He looked and recognized the spiky, purple hair across the from him. He immediately turned around and went to go talk to Hitomi and Kata.
“So, Kata, Hitomi…..What did you exactly see earlier today?” said Daisuke looking down at his feet. Hitomi smiled and said, “You tell us what we…..I saw lover boy.” Daisuke face turned a bright redand started to stammering, “I-Its not like t-th-” Kata abruptly stood up and his sentence and said, “No one said it was.” Kata then walked slowly towards the water and put her feet in. Hitomi propted herself to go over to Kata but Daisuke stopped her and said, “Let me talk to her alone okay….” Hitomi looked at Daisuke and nodded. She then sat down in the warm sand and looked at the night sky.
Daisuke walked over to the were Kata had sat down and put her feet in the water. Daisuke took a big breath of air. Just as he did the wind blew slightly , he smiled and sat down next to Kata. He just sat there for a minutes not saying anything, He looked out to the horizon and looked at the small dots that were stars millions of light-years away. He then finally spoke up and said, “Kata…..I don’t understand.” Kata sat there silently for a few minutes perhaps of thinking of what he meant by that. She then sighed and said, “Just a month ago, you told me you liked me….” Daisuke didn’t say anything, he had indeed like her a month ago, but she had turned him down. He turned and looked at Kata and said, “Kata, you turned me down remember…..” Kata still didn’t look at him when she spoke, “I know I did, but…. So soon after doing that you go and almost kiss Bara.” Daisuke looked down at the water for a few seconds, he thought she understood that it had been a crush, after being ‘crushed’ it doesn’t take that much time for him to get over it. Daisuke opened his mouth to say something when Amu called out, “COME ON EVERYONE, TIME TO EAT.” Daisuke chuckled, Amu would always be like that, he knew it to. He stood up and wiped the dirt off his pants. He then held out his hand for Kata. Kata looked up at him and looked back down with a smile. She took his hand and Daisuke pulled her up. They both then ran over to the fire.
When Daisuke and Kata had arrived the music had already started blasting. Everyone was sitting in small circles eating. Daisuke looked around and saw Hitomi seating over by herself signaling for him and Kata to come over to her. Daisuke smiled and started to walk over to were Hitomi was at. He walked past 2 other group of people. They had all had started to eat already. Daisuke sat down on the warm sand facing the fire, while Hitomi and Kata were facing him. Hitomi gave a smore and he began to nibble on it.
Just as Daisuke got comfortable, something in the sky shone brightly. It attracted everyone’s attention and everyone looked at it. What ever it was it was beautiful. But then Daisuke noticed something strange about the shinning object in the sky. It was getting….bigger?! Daisuke stood up to tell everyone to run….But it was to late. The beautiful thing that was once in the sky, was no longer in the sky, but in the middle of the group. It had landed right in the fire. A few people got up to look at it, but a few stayed back thinking that it was something bad.
Just as Daisuke started to move close to it, the beautiful object broke up apart and spread into the air. It gave the sky a view of the aurora borealis. Even looked at it with awe and amazement. Daisuke was extremely interested in the Aurora Borealis that was just made from….a rock from the sky? Then he saw something. He immediately started to wipe his eyes and looked back at the Borealis. There was something coming out of it. It was a animal…..it looked like a dog? No, it was to big to be a dog…..it was a wolf. The wolf landed on front of him and looked at him as he gazed back in amazement. He then heard a voice and looked around to see nothing but the wolf in front of him. He took a big gulp and looked down at the wolf and said, “Was that you?” The wolf looked in his eyes and didn’t move its mouth, but he heard its voice, “Hello~, I am Inukami. And yes that was me. I have come to make a pact with you.” Daisuke looked at the wolf named Inukami and said, “A pact?” Inukami gave a small laugh and said, “Yes a pact, I have come here to be partnered with you. I am here to become you.” Daisuke looked at Inukami strangely and Inukami gave a small laugh and spoke once more, “Look around, your not the only one.” Daisuke looked shocked and suddenly started seeing people again, he saw Kata in front of a bat and Kata in front of….something….. He looked at Inukami and said, “What does a pact entail?” Inukami gave what looked like a smile and said, “It entails power and protection against the threat that threatens the Earth.” Daisuke looked at Inukami even more weirdly now. He was talking to a wolf…..but it was talking back though…..Daisuke looked at Inukami and could tell that Inukami would not take no for an answer and sighed. “Okay, I’ll make the pact with you….” said Daisuke looking into Inukami’s eyes again. Inukami smiled and said, “It is done then.” Inukami slowly walked towards Daisuke before turning into a green orb. Daisuke looked surprised and looked around to see that their was a red orb in front of Hitomi and a yellow orb in front of Kata. Just as he looked back at the green orb he saw it comes towards him and him in the eye……He then heard howls coming everywhere and the sound of wind blowing around him. He then blacked out and felt himself floating.
Chapter Two
Reawakening!
All he could see was the blackness surrounding him and the sound of his heart beating franticly. The second thing that he heard was his gasps for breath, it sounded like he was being strangled, as if any second all the air of body would disappear and he would die. Then the worse of it all came. An extreme pain in his chest came to him. He knew it was in his chest, but the pain felt like it was going through his body and soul. He cried out in pain before he finally laid silently where ever he was and he heard Inukami’s voice. Inukami then said, “Child of earth and wind, hear my cry, awaken a new, without a sigh, find peace once more, for thou shall not die. The darkness that is around you will soon start to devour you. You well then become engulfed in the very darkness that you were holding in….”
Daisuke sat in the darkness that was all that seem to be left were every he was. He felt the cool embrace of the darkness, the smoothness of it. It felt like velvet, soft and smooth, able to hold anything in his cool embrace. He closed his eyes felt his body tingle, it was a different sensation…He had never felt it before, he opened his eyes again to see that the darkness was starting to crawl of him. The darkness was already to his stomach. He did not fight it, he loved the feeling. Then a bright light shined before him, the shadows that were slowly crawling up his body were no falling away from his body. The light’s was cool as well, not warm as one would think, if anything, it was colder then the darkness was. The feel was different to, I it had the feel of grass, it reminded him of the field near his house, seating underneath a tree over the river…..
6:30 AM; Daisuke’s house; Daisuke woke up with a gasp. He felt his chest expecting to feel pain….but he felt nothing. He slowly got out of bed and felt himself sway a little. For a few seconds he felt the blood rush to his head and his vision impaired by darkness. When that ordeal was finally over he stood himself and started to put clothes on. He woke up early twice in one week, that was different.
As he entered the bathroom he begun to think. How had he got home last night….Did he even go out last night? All he remembered was Inukami’s voice this morning and the moment they ‘met’ at the bonfire. Why can’t he remember going to sleep last night…..or if the event he saw last night even happened. He looked at the mirror and felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. That was weird….How would be texting him this early in the morning?
Daisuke opened the text message and began to read. ‘Dude, I’m coming over early, I had this weird dream, and I don’t remember going to sleep, cya in a few.’ Daisuke nodded so Emil didn’t remember going to sleep either. How strange….
Daisuke yawned as he walked into the kitchen. He froze as he saw his father in the kitchen again. He shook his head and walked in. When his father noticed him, he started going through the same thing he had said the day before. Daisuke was confused he thought they had settled this yesterday?! Just as he dad was leaving there was a knock at the door. Daisuke looked at his father who gave a sigh and walked out the door to go to work.
Daisuke went to door and opened the door to see a very frustrated looking Emil. He moved out of the way so Emil could come in and saw that he was till standing in the doorway. Many things ran through his head at this point, but one big one poofed in his mind. After the break up he looked like EXACTLY like this. Daisuke looked at Emil and nodded. Daisuke walked into his room grabbed his bag and a cold hot dog and walked out the front door making sure to lock it. Daisuke looked into the bed of the truck and saw that Emil’s bag was already in the bed. So he hadn’t planned to come in at all. He threw his bag in and jumped into the drivers seat and ignited the engine. He put the car in reverse and started towards Hitomi’s and Kata’s house. When he reached the end of his drive way he noticed something white in a nearby tree. Daisuke first tried to get a better look, but soon gave up thinking it was probably a bird.
As he drove up to the twin’s house he noticed that they were already outside. They were both looking down not saying anything to the other. The both got up in unison and got in the truck. Daisuke turned to back out of the driveway to see fear in Kata’s eyes and wonder in Hitomi’s. What made the two girls like this he wondered. He gave a sigh, hopefully Misty would be in the same mood as always…..
Daisuke drove up into Misty’s drive way and saw that she wasn’t outside. He grabbed his cell phone and went to her number. Just as he was about to call her, she walked out of the door. She came out with a skip and a smile. What ever got him and the other’s down seemed to have no effect on Misty. She walked to the truck and threw her bag into the bed like all others had and got in the truck with a smile and said, “Hello all, good morn to yall!” No one sneered and laughed just gave her a small nod. Even Daisuke didn’t laugh, he didn’t do anything other then put the car in reverse and drove off. He then looked to see Emil turn the raido on. The first and last song to play was Decode by Paramore. The song had always mad him feel confused, it fitted the atmosphere almost to well.
11:35 AM; Open Lunch; Daisuke gave a yawn as he walked into the parking lot. He planned to drive up the street to Sonics real quick to get something to eat. The good thing about people being so distant today was that he didn’t have to pick anything up for them……There was one thing that he didn’t really get though. The teacher did the same exact thing that they had did the day before. What was going on Riverpoint?
As Daisuke got in his car he something caught his attention. Directly across from his truck was a person wearing all white. The most noticeable thing was the persons height. The person was no taller than a 6th grader. He also noticed that they were wearing a dress. So the person was a girl….or a cross dresser…..While if you paid enough attention to the persons long white hair, one would conclude it was a girl. Daisuke gave a shrug. The person was probably eating lunch outside or something, no reason for him to intrude. He hopped into his car seat and started to truck and drove off to Sonics.
Daisuke ordered the same thing as usual with the same person as always. She gave a smile as she got his order and skated back to the diner. Daisuke always wondered about their Sonic. All other Sonics seemed to be ran by machines, but this was still ran by people skating in and out of the restaurant. It was admirable though, that he had to appreciate. The hard work of all the people who worked there worked as one efficient thing. They got the work done. He knew that well. That was because the person had came back with his order already. Daisuke gave a smile and said, “Thanks Holly.” Holly gave a smile and said, “No prob Daisuke.” Daisuke gave her the money and she gave a small wave before skating away. Daisuke always wondered…..Holly looked about the same age as him, but she didn’t go to school. Daisuke looked at her for awhile before looking in his mirror to back up.
When Daisuke went to back he saw the white haired girl again and stopped. He looked out of his window to tell her to move to see that she wasn’t there. Daisuke gave a sigh and ducked his head down to bring his head back again. When he did this he saw his head’s shadow…..But it was big. He knew his head was big….but not that big. Daisuke tilted his head upward and was in awe. The white haired girl that he had seen behind him just a few seconds ago was now on top of the building. She looked at Daisuke before jumping off the roof. Daisuke eyes grew big. His mouth became dry and he couldn’t speak. She was free falling straight for his truck. Just as she was about to hit his truck she disappeared in an instant. Daisuke blinked rapidly trying to comprehend what he had just seen. Nothing came to mind……He sat like that thinking for a few seconds until her heard a honk behind him that made him jump. He turned around to see that there was somebody waiting for the spot he was in. He would have to think about this later…..He gave a nod to the person and backed up and drove back towards the school.
As Daisuke finally entered the parking lot and parked his truck it seemed like lunch was almost over already. He looked at the clock on his radio to see that he had about ten minutes left to eat his lunch. He gave a big sigh and walked around to the back of his truck. He opened the back and sat down on the end. He unwrapped his burger and started to bite down when he saw a shadow again…..He turned around slowly and saw the small girl with white hair again. He bite his tongue and cried out with pain. The girl giggled and tackled hugged Daisuke. She dug her head into his shoulder blade not really caring that he was giving her a weird look. Daisuke then said, “Ummm….Can I help you?” The girl looked up at him with her arms still wrapped around and said, “My name is Remi.”
