HISTORY

Nagato is a Kanto native, born under the name of Arata Masuda. Nagato grew up in the place of his birth, Cerulean City. Team Rocket was quite a disturbance in his City, though. Team Rocket was definitely a driving force in Nagato's wanting of a Pokemon. This all added up to Nagato joining the infamous team so that he could get his first Pokemon out of desperation. He had begged his parents to allow him to get a Pokemon but they had both refused. This led to Nagato to run away from home, join the Rockets, and eventually led to him receiving his first Pokemon which was a lonely Cubone that liked to thrash about. Nagato ended up taking the name "Nagato" to prevent his parents from finding out where he had gone and to prevent Team Rocket from abusing any personal information they might dig up with his name. Nagato's branch of Team Rocket was prohibited from naming their Pokemon so that they would avoid growing attached. This left a sour taste in his mouth but he was just happy to have a Pokemon of his own. The missions were fairly simple and had about a 50% success rate. In addition, Nagato would get paid for these missions which allowed him to support himself and his Pokemon. Most of these involved the Silph Company which he later learned was to make an attempt to control it. He never got to see what the result of this was because he ended up being assigned to a Team Rocket branch stationed on an island called Iona. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLOT #1: Team Rocket Takeover Upon reaching Iona, Team Rocket had already started a full-blown invasion. He was unsure of their motives as the boss always seemed to have something up his sleeve. His boss had kidnapped the region's Top Coordinator and the region began to take on substantial amounts of damage. Though he was a bit hesitant, Nagato did what he could to support Team Rocket, though he mostly got grunt work and nothing serious. Nagato wasn't entirely okay with the damage caused, but Team Rocket was driven out slowly by the resisting forces. Nagato, using his real identity and stowing away his Rocket uniform, managed to keep from getting thrown in jail. He planned to live peacefully with his Cubone and Swadloon (caught within his first few days on the island). This however did not last long. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLOT #1.5: Before Timeskip After Team Rocket had been run out of Iona, Nagato was convinced he would be able to live peacefully until he was cornered one evening by one of his old coworkers. He was informed that Team Rocket was not out of the picture yet. He learned that there were still enough members throughout the island waiting to make another move. Before he could decline joining Team Rocket's foolish attempts once more he was informed that the leader of the Rockets had in fact found out who he really was and in addition his parents were located. He was given an ultimatum involving his parents, causing him to accept to continue being a Rocket. Nagato began to train, hoping that if he could grow stronger he could find a better life for himself somewhere else. His Cubone evolved after training with him and he managed to find and capture a wayward Duskull and the Spritzee it seemed to be harassing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLOT #1.75: Faros Town Gym Leader Nagato, now back in Team Rocket, was given a brand new mission. He was to become a gym leader and take over the Faros Town Gym, previously run by Kimi Midori who left to become a member of Iona's Elite 4. To do so, members of Team Rocket aided him in the application process through bribes and threats. He was also outfitted with Electric type Pokemon in place of his original party by his boss.

Personality:

Nagato is very cold when it comes to working for Team Rocket. He seems to not care much about his Pokemon while in Rocket attire but shows care as a "civilian". In order to keep his Rocket identity and his civilian identity separate, he acts differently to avoid being identified. He also uses the alias "Nagato" whereas his real name, Arata Masuda, is not used. Nagato often questions his involvement with Team Rocket but he strives to ascend the ranks of the organization and hopefully reach the rank of Admin or Executive. Nagato has become skeptical of his motives due to his constant two-faced act, which has gone on so long he has begun to lose his identity as Arata.

Appearance:

Nagato is a thin, solemn-looking teen. He has straight, short, blond hair with bangs that lie in front of his blue eyes. He has pale skin with a slightly ruddy tinge to it. Nagato only wears his Rocket uniform when conducting "Rocket business". To keep his personal identity separate from his "Rocket" identity, Nagato abandons all of his Rocket attire, kept in his backpack. His "civilian attire" consists of a button-up shirt, black jeans, and brown boots. Nagato also keeps his Pokeballs in his pockets when he is a "civilian".
