PERSONA A girl who follows emotions, Alix is a feeling driven individual with a strong sense of morality. She bases decisions over what she believes to be right or wrong, and she has a hard time when people act against these beliefs. This is not to say that Alix is narrow-minded, as she's open to listen to all opinions, especially if they are well justified, but may not accept them as her own. As in line with her emotion driven persona, Alix bleeds kindness to others, regardless if they are a stranger or a close friend. She places a level of trust in people, that they are inherently decent human beings and that she will be treated in a similar manner. This is clearly not true in all cases. While Alix tries her best to spread goodness and friendliness around, make no mistake that this girl can hold a grudge. People she has a displeasure towards are often dealt with curtly with a sharp tongue, especially shallow, superficial individuals and people that have betrayed her trust in the past. The first and foremost exemption to Alix's general pleasantness is towards Rockets; Alix chases them out of the town with no hesitation. Rockets are individuals that chose that career path, no one forced their hand in most cases, They were, and are, the cause of the refugees that have taken up residence in Alix's town, as well as parts of the pokemon gym. Rockets caused the death of many, many people, a sin that Alix will not forgive easily. An arguable factor in her hatred towards Rockets embodies a blond, one she hasn't seen or heard from in many years. She'd deny any part with him, but reality dictates that Tray Waters is a sore spot that Alix has buried. Alix holds an especially close bond with Akika Miroku, a young girl she met on her travels before the desolation of Iona. She was young, far too young to travel alone and with no respectable family to return to, Alix took Akika in and has since been with her. Over the years, despite the stress of preventing riots and providing order, Alix has done her best to raise Akika and has tried to pass along her wisdom and ideas onto the girl. | |
ALIX CORRINE TAYLOR FEMALE AGE 22 HETEROSEXUAL GYM LEADER 5'5" 130 LBS LINKS SEE TEAM SEND CHALLENGE SHARE PROFILE | HISTORY Alix's origins are far from extraodinary. She was born to young parents on the island of Cinnabar as they travelled the world on a small houseboat. After Alix was born, they continued to travel, taking the maternity leave to expose themselves to lands that they'd eventually decide to take up residence upon. Alix doesn't remember any of her early voyages, but there are photo albums of pictures of her in many foreign lands. Growing up with a gym leader as a parent presented its own set of challenges. Alix's parents were strict, and having a caught and captured pokemon was an event only to be celebrated at the age of ten. Therefore, Alix spent her early years submersed in her parents' pokemon and battles, but never alone or with her own pokemon. She watched many battles with challenging trainers, and was able to observe both their strategies and her mothers. She learned then and there that pokemon moves were not just direct and conventionally used. Good trainers had power and tactic. Better trainers had creativity. When not in school, Alix lived and breathed pokemon at the gym. Sketching them, watching them, begging to have her own before the age of ten. She was rewarded for her efforts; her parents caught and kept a Growlithe around the house, and while it was not Alix's, it would obey her in mock battles against her mother. Alix learned the conduct of battle beside her father. Through example, she'd call out attacks and commands for the fire pokemon, when and where to call the match, and how to care for a pokemon after a battle. She crafted her unique use of battle moves before she received Matthew on her tenth birthday. After reaching the age of maturity, Alix boarded a ship and toured the other leagues, raising a team alongside Matthew for the duration of the league journey before gifting them, save for Matthew, to the Professor of the region if she were ever to return. Alix always favoured fire types, and it reflected in her team performance; water trainers and gyms were always difficult. At 17, Alix had completed 4 other regions before returning home. At that point, she began to work on her journey through Iona, restarting with her starter alone. Her intentions this time involved allowing Matthew to evolve for battle against her mother, something they both anticipated greatly. In Iona, Alix briefly indulged in Contests, but found that frilly dresses and pampered pets were really not all to her liking, nor did they suit her well. She rebelled against the idea of it, taking up a strong tomboy visage which had been present throughout her years, but became stronger part of her personality and lifestyle. Her hair was cut back from her chest to her ears, and since then has been kept short. It was in Iona that Alix first founded romantic feelings in another. She appreciated the man, at that time a boy, known as Tray Waters. Whether it was the fact that he returned her affections or not, she was swept up in his charm and gestures, one of which was a gifted Squirtle that Alix today still has. Unfortunately, all fairy tails and future pokemon champion plans were cast aside when the Rockets, Tray included, reared their plans and vomited their foul ideas for material value across Iona. The peaceful island went to hell -- Rocket movements drove wild pokemon into aggression and it became unsafe to stray outside towns, even with pokemon to accompany trainers. Towns were burned, riots ravaged streets and supplies, and refugees poured from all directions. In the heat of the worst of the fray, Alix and Akika found safety in Border town, unable to reach Lakewood where her parents resided. Border town had no major disasters destroy it, nor did it have a Rocket occupation, but there were a lot of homeless and uprooted people seeking shelter within the safety of the town. Supplies became tight, food rationed, and fights common. It was then that Alix and Alex, the gym leader at the time, enforced rules and provided order to both residents and refugees, a strong house in the galestorm that ravaged the island. Alex Ford was unfortunately killed by Entei when the legendary dog threatened to enter the town. He and Alix were able to deflect it from harming any citizens or homes, but the male was tragically killed in an explosion that leveled the nearby forests, and most of his pokeballs were shattered and destroyed. Only his Arcanine, Fenrir, who was not in his orb, survived his trainer's demise. With the weight of a community bearing down on her, Alix officially hung her hat on her hopes of travelling far to become a pokemon master. She took up Alex's position of gym leader, requesting a risky transfer of pokemon from one of the leagues she had previously beaten. With PC machines down, two pokeballs were flown to Iona via Pidgeot. Along with Fenrir, who Alix had taken in, they became her gym team. Over the course of the next two years, Alix became a rock which could be depended on, focusing on raising Akika and offering a beacon of hope to any trainer that dared brave the hell of the island to come to challenge her. |
